Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of school leadership at the Ramah Anak Islamic Junior High School, located at Jl. Paraji No. 63, Kalibaru, Cilodong, Depok. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. This study describes written or oral statements from observable sources. The researcher used interviews, observations, and documentation to answer the research objectives. Interviews were conducted with the foundation, school principal, classroom teachers, and parents of students.

This study examines the role of school leadership at the Islamic ChildFriendly Junior High School based on leadership theory, which includes four main aspects: as a direction setter, change agent, spokesperson, and coach. The principal has established a vision, mission, and policies that align with the needs of students and the expectations of parents, demonstrating their strategic role in determining the direction of the institution. As an agent of change, the principal adapts to national education policies, including the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and PMM.

Additionally, the principal actively serves as a spokesperson in communicating with parents, the community, and related institutions. In their role as mentors, school principals guide and enhance teachers' capacities through various strategies, such as regular meetings, direct discussions, and facilitating training. This study emphasizes that effective school leadership contributes to improving the quality of education in schools.
