PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT PULAU SERIBU MELALUI PROGRAM PENDIDIKAN DAN EKONOMI SYARIAH

Abstract

This community service program in Pulau Tidung focused on addressing several needs of the local community, particularly in religious education, digital awareness, social welfare, and environmental care. The main goal was to help children improve their Quranic reading skills, guide students in understanding moral values and digital risks, support families through parenting education, and contribute to the island’s environmental sustainability. The program used a participatory and community-based approach through activities such as TPA sessions, mentoring at schools, seminars on online loans, online gambling, and halal tourism, social assistance for orphans, bazaars, library management, mangrove planting, and community clean-up. Evaluation was carried out through observation, short assessments, participation monitoring, and feedback from local partners. The results showed noticeable improvements: children became more confident in reading the Quran, students understood the dangers of digital misuse, parents gained new insight into Islamic parenting, and environmental conditions improved with the planting of 500 mangrove seedlings. Despite facing several challenges, including weather changes, time limitations, and logistical constraints, the program successfully met its objectives and provided meaningful benefits for the people of Pulau Tidung.
