This research aims to understand the practice of Qardh or debt in the
Sokongan tradition in Sonoharjo Village and to examine the Islamic legal
perspective on this tradition. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative
research method. It involves open interviews to explore and understand the
attitudes, views, feelings, and behaviors of individuals or a group of people in
Sonoharjo Village. The data for the study are obtained through interviews and
documentation with the Village Head or representative, the leader of the Sokongan
tradition, participants in the Sokongan tradition, as well as religious scholars and
community leaders.
The results of this research indicate that the community's understanding of
Qardh practices in the Sokongan tradition is generally good from a fiqh
perspective. However, in practice, there are certain points in the implementation of
the Sokongan tradition where the conditions for Qardh are not fulfilled.
The conclusion of this thesis is that the understanding of the people in
Sonoharjo Village is limited to theoretical knowledge only, and there is still a lack
of implementation in the practice of the Sokongan tradition. The main factors
hindering the implementation of Qardh practices in the Sokongan tradition,
according to Islamic law, are the lack of religious knowledge among the community
and the insufficient dissemination by religious scholars.
