Abstrak

Teachers are the most important component in education, where teachers
are not only responsible for transferring lessons but also have the task of educating
so that they are able to produce a quality generation in accordance with national
education goals. Therefore, competent teachers are needed so that learning can be
created that is creative, innovative, effective and of course fun.
This research was carried out at SDIT Al-Barkah Cimanggis Depok using
descriptive qualitative methods. This research uses interview, observation and
documentation methods with the data sources for this research namely Foundation
administrators, School Principals, teachers and also student guardians. Test the
validity of the data using source triangulation.
The research results show that the increase in teacher competency at SDIT
Al-Bakah is relatively good. In relation to personality competency, teachers are
required to have noble morals and behavior that can be emulated by students, show
openness in thinking and acting, show their authority as educators, have activity
programs as a form of improving physical and spiritual health, and always provide
motivation to instill commitment as an educator. In relation to social competence,
teachers are required to be able to communicate and interact effectively with
students, fellow educators and education staff, parents and the surrounding
community. In relation to pedagogical and professional competencies, teachers are
required to be able to master teaching materials, design learning using creative
and innovative methods, carry out effective learning, manage the class well,
evaluate learning processes and outcomes, and be able to develop students to
actualize learning. the potential it has. The school strives to continue to improve
teacher competency, including by continuously providing direction, advice and
motivation for students, facilitating training, coaching and provision needed by
teachers, carrying out regular assessments of teacher competency and providing
appreciation for the best teachers every year.
