UPAYA PENINGKATAN PROFESIONALISME GURU (Studi Kualitatif di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Muzari`in Pandeglang Banten)

Abstrak

This research aims to determine the condition of professionalism at
Madarasah Tsanawiyah Darul Muzari'in Pandeglang Banten, the efforts made to
increase professionalism as well as the obstacles and solutions. The results are
presented using a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection techniques
used were observation, interviews and documentation methods. Interviews were
conducted with school principals, teachers and students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah
Darul Muzari`in Pandeglang Banten. This research was conducted during
(February 2024) the 2023-2024 academic year.

The professional competence of MTs Darul Muzari`in teachers has begun
to improve. Many teachers are willing to continue their education process to a
higher level. Around 90% of teachers who previously had not gone to college have
continued their education while teaching in the past 2 years. There are even those
who are continuing their Masters degree. Also through internal training which
really helps teachers in improving their professional competence.

Several efforts to increase teacher professionalism carried out by Madrasah
Tsanawiyah include 1) Encouraging and facilitating teachers to remain
enthusiastic in continuing their education. 2) Holding internal training and taking
part in external training. 3) Procuring books is a solution to increase reading
literacy.
